Trail of The Torch

The Demands of the Dystopic!!

It may look cool onscreen, the clothes, the ideology, the mania of it all but it hides the theories of a nervous writer. The What If…? The subject people muse about with a scandal or War event, well us writers make the situation worse – We Write about it!!

Most of us are history buffs, we have to be – Writers are essentially chefs and our recipes are made of historic figures, pop culture and the life lessons that stare us in the face! I’d fawn over the idea of A dystopian novel, I never dreamt I’d almost be in one!!

Those damn Escalators – To think an entire book would be made by a man going down escalators! Then the comments came and the Bundy siege happened and Muse’s Cauldron starting bubbling in my brain and after a mud slinging on Social Media I began to think WHAT IF….?

Well soon the What If became HOW LONG TILL..? And all the guesstimate and theories suddenly became a weekly psychic reading via the tapping of a keyboard. So much so that I would stop writing it every so often, I wanted to be published not to be a prophet

False Providence in hindsight may be seen as a rebuke to all that was back then.

My Protagonist is a Latina, she plays a vital role throughout, Spunky and vibrant and completely herself.

Diversity in all its forms, LGTB, Native American, African American, Asian, Lets just throw everything AND the kitchen sink at Prejudice shall we?

Most writers are smug over their workmanship as history is still unfolding in a little hesitant too. Orwell wrote 1984 in 1933 so you can only imagine his feelings in the Autumn of 1939!!

I’m a little worried about coming off as patronising, it’s a big bugbear of mine and all this awkward introvert needs is the dreaded tag ‘White Saviour ‘. Just cos there are two white men around her doesn’t mean she’s gonna be saved by them. My Christobelle deserves better – she’s saved, yes but by a man who’s essentially her father.

I may write Character Profiles in the future….Like a different bio you all night need and like

You’re Welcome
